Hello. I’m Tom Greenwood. Thank you for your curiosity in me and my work.
I’m a Sydney-based photographer and videographer specialising in editorial, non-profit, corporate and portrait work.
Some years ago I was a journalist in Southeast Asia. After I made the switch to photography I worked as a photojournalist as well as shooting for organisations such as the United Nations World Food Programme, Oxfam and Save the Children. I still love this kind of work and have numerous assignments each year in the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
I now shoot a lot of video – sometime alongside stills, often exclusively. I find it hugely rewarding, combining photographic skills with interviewing, audio, graphics and video editing.
I shot the still images for the feature film ‘The Rocket’, which won a host of awards including Best Feature awards at the 2013 Berlin and Tribeca film festivals.
My images have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Variety magazine, the Independent, the BBC and CBS news websites, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian, The Weekend Australian magazine, The Monthly, Marie Claire and South China Morning Post. My corporate clients include Mission Australia, the Australian Labour Party and Audi.
I also run a portrait business: Sydney Portraits.
Please feel free to email me, call me or add me on Facebook and Twitter.
